FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Dermal fillers and neuromodulators like Botox® are made of completely different products. They are used to complement one another in facial rejuvenation treatments. In many of our clients, we will recommend a treatment plan using both of these options.
How are they different?
Neuromodulators relax the small muscles in your face that cause lines and wrinkles of facial expression. Therefore, neuromodulators soften and prevent expression lines such as frown lines, forehead lines, crow's feet, or bunny lines.
Dermal fillers volumize from below the resting lines and hollows to smooth them out and promote a rejuvenated appearance by adding volume back to the ageing facial features. Dermal fillers done by our experienced injectors are geared towards preserving facial structure for the most natural results. Common treatment areas include lips, cheeks, temples, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, jawline, and chin.
The combined result of using both neuromodulators and dermal fillers is often ideal for full-face rejuvenation using injectables. With both of these options, our expert injectors can help create a rejuvenated, refreshed, and more youthful appearance.

Dermal fillers are well-studied and a safe medical treatment option. But to deliver dermal fillers in a manner that provides both desired results and safety requires training and expertise. The face has many underlying sensitive structures, including nerves, blood vessels and vital organs like the eyes. It takes a trained professional to perform the procedures with precision and aesthetic expertise.
Therefore, regardless of which clinic you choose, it is essential to be treated by trained medical professionals who understand the anatomy of the face and are experienced in dermal fillers.

You will notice results immediately after the procedure is completed. However, the optimal result will only become apparent in the weeks after the procedure as the filler settles into the skin, any swelling resolves, and your body's natural collagen production begins.
The duration of these results can vary depending on how quickly your body breaks down the dermal filler. Depending on the individual, results can generally last between six to eighteen months.
Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can be removed with an enzyme dissolver. This is also a non-invasive procedure involving a simple injection. This is what keeps dermal filler treatments safe and adjustable with the ageing process.
There is no preparation needed for dermal fillers. Our medical professionals will provide a consultation to help evaluate if dermal fillers or another treatment would be the best option for achieving your desired goals.
To minimize bruising a few days before the procedure, we recommend stopping blood-thinning over-the-counter medications like aspirin, naproxen, or ibuprofen. We also recommend stopping supplements like Omega-3, St. John's Wort, Gingko Biloba, ginseng, garlic, primrose oil, and Vitamin E. We recommend avoiding alcoholic beverages for about 24 hours before injection.
All treatments begin with a consultation where our medical doctors who specialize in medical aesthetics will address your concerns. During this consult, a customized treatment plan will be tailored to your needs. This process involves taking your medical history, including understanding any past aesthetics procedures you may have had, along with your satisfaction with these past treatments. Next, our professionals fully explore your concerns, and any solutions provided by dermal fillers are outlined in detail.
Most of our clients prefer to have the consult and treatment on the same visit. We will often first apply a local anesthetic cream to the skin during the treatment itself to minimize any discomfort. The filler itself also has an anesthetic in it, similar to what you receive at the dentist, to provide further comfort.
Next, our doctors carefully inject the dermal fillers at specific anatomical locations based on your personalized treatment plan. This is done with a tiny needle. Often, for safety and improved results, a cannula is used to inject the dermal filler. Most people feel dull pressure from the injection. Most patients often describe the procedure as fairly comfortable.
In most cases, dermal filler treatments can be completed in under forty-five minutes. Dermal fillers have very minimal to no downtime. One can expect some localized swelling and/or redness for a few hours following the procedure. In some rare cases, mild bruising may be present. Otherwise, this procedure requires minimal recovery time.
A majority of our patients notice no side effects. This is a minimal to no downtime procedure. However, it is not abnormal to experience mild swelling, redness, and tenderness for the first 48 hours after the procedure. A little bruising can occur after the procedure. This is also not unexpected, but most of our clients do not require any downtime.
The cost of a dermal filler treatment varies with each person based on the area treated, their current anatomy, and their desired results. These factors determine how many syringes of dermal filler are needed or whether we should perform other procedures as part of the overall treatment plan. During your consultation, the cost, as well as payment options, are thoroughly reviewed. We accept cash, credit cards, and debt.
